We were counting on the temperature dropping below 40\u00b0C after 5 p.m. Spoiler: it didn\u2019t.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">We packed our stuff and rolled out from the hotel. The neighborhood felt like a little \u201cLittle India\u201d \u2014 lots of curious looks, a few smiles, the usual. As for the route\u2026 pure highway autopilot. The upside: we cruised comfortably at around 120\u2013130 km\/h (sure, the limit\u2019s 160, but why bother?). The downside: the oven heat was back again.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Midway stop: Shake Shack in Abu Dhabi \u2014 brunch-lunch kind of deal. We left the bike in the parking lot, and the staff inside were super hyped \u2014 taking photos (mostly them with us, not the other way around xD). Grabbed Starbucks coffee to go and headed back into the oven. It was almost 5 p.m., and the sun still felt like a hairdryer on max.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">That day, I kind of hit my limit \u2014 the heat got to me, and for a rider, that\u2019s the worst-case scenario. In Al Ain (around 8 p.m.), it was still 40\u00b0C even after sunset. What the heck? I took off my jacket because it felt like sitting in a sauna. A few isotonic drinks at a gas station, and we pushed on toward the border.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">First, we drove up to the Hili <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/jJkBAFVSRdjSt3Za8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">border crossing in Al Ain <\/a>\u2014 and surprise: GCC citizens only. So, U-turn and off to <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/ZtTTkginbSLSSPGh6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Khatm Al Shikla<\/a>. That\u2019s where things got tricky. At first, no one seemed to know how to handle the stamps for our customs paperwork. \u201cGo to that building\u2026 actually, no, the other one\u2026 wait, maybe the third.\u201d In the fourth one (ironically labeled Customs), the guy said, \u201cI\u2019m not from customs\u201d. At that point, we weren\u2019t playing along anymore \u2014 either someone competent shows up, or we\u2019re not leaving. A bit of tension, 15 minutes later \u2014 stamp secured. (<i>Seriously, let\u2019s not treat people like fools.<\/i>)<\/p><p class=\"p1\">On the Omani side, things were\u2026 \u201cfun\u201d too. Insurance \u2014 language barrier plus an attempt to charge us a bit extra (no worries, chargeback done for the correct amount). Passport control took forever, and the cherry on top was waiting for someone who knew how to handle the Carnet. It looked like they were seeing the document for the first time, even though the country officially requires it. The final customs officers were super kind, but the system itself \u2014 total chaos. All in all, we lost about three hours crossing both borders.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">We reached the hotel in Muscat at 2:30 a.m. \u2014 the longest stretch of the whole trip, 12 hours straight on the bike. We crashed instantly. The bed was insanely comfy \u2014 the kind that makes you not want to get up in the morning. And the bonus feature: humidity. The temperature was technically lower, but the air felt like a wet towel \u2014 clothes soaked from sweat and moisture. <span class=\"s1\">Good night.<\/span><\/p><ul class=\"ul1\"><li class=\"li1\">\u231a\ufe0f <b>Travel time: <\/b>12 hours;<\/li><li class=\"li1\">\ud83d\udee3\ufe0f <b>Distance:<\/b> 714 km;<\/li><li class=\"li1\">\ud83c\udfcd\ufe0f <span class=\"s2\"><b>Average target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oman, Muscat<\/a> -&gt; \ud83c\udde6\ud83c\uddea <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/iD4xC5w8ebFqNNKH6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United Arab Emirates, Dubai<\/a> <\/p><p class=\"p1\">There\u2019ll be a separate post all about Muscat \u2014 food, sightseeing, overall impressions \u2014 no point copying it here and feeding Google a duplicate. Today, just a short one about the road and the borders, because honestly, that part was more than enough work on its own. <\/p><p class=\"p1\">In the morning, I still had a remote work event to run (a stream). Microsoft and I \u2014 a toxic love story. Teams kept freezing and dropping frames, and my patience was hanging by a thread. Thankfully, things calmed down around 2 p.m., and we could finally hit the road. Well\u2026 almost. Leaving Muscat, we ran into a traffic jam straight out of hell. We took the shoulder \u2014 some drivers kindly made space, others, the usual \u201ckings of the road\u201d in their Bavarian toys, not so much.      <\/p><p class=\"p1\">We chose a different border this time \u2014 experience teaches you things. Meanwhile, on Instagram, a customs officer from the previous crossing invited us to his family home(!). Super nice gesture, but not this time \u2014 we were on the clock. Along the way, we made two quick stops just to check if the stream running in the background was still alive.   <\/p><p class=\"p1\">We pulled up to the \u201ccustoms\u201d building. Empty. Quiet like a museum on a Monday. A short walk through the hallways \u2014 no one even noticed us. Okay then, no leaving without that stamp, or we\u2019d be crying at the next border. We waited a bit, and finally, an officer showed up \u2014 and led us\u2026 to another building. No signs, no logic. Perfectly obvious, right? xD Stamp done, and we were back on the road.       <\/p><p class=\"p1\">The Emirates. Everything runs like clockwork\u2026 until it doesn\u2019t. The officer looked at our registration certificate and said it was \u201cexpired.\u201d Of course. A quick explanation of what\u2019s what in the Polish document cleared things up, and we got our stamps and moved on. A quick x-ray scan along the way \u2014 just routine \u2014 and we were back on the road.     <\/p><p class=\"p1\">We checked into our hotel in Dubai around 9 p.m. A few people outside were admiring our bike like it was a museum exhibit \u2014 a nice way to end the day. We made it. Tomorrow, we\u2019re dropping the motorcycle off at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pangaeaspeed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pangaea Speed Dubai <\/a>\u2014 the team handling our transport and relocation.
