Our motorcycle trip from Poland to Oman
Hey! Glad you dropped by 😄 You’re probably wondering what kind of crazy idea we pulled off this time — and fair enough, because this one really was wild. Desert Horizons 2025 became our biggest ride yet: a motorcycle trip all the way from Poland to Oman. Yep, for real. On two wheels. No shortcuts.
We set off at the end of August 2025 and wrapped up more than 11,000 kilometers on the road. Along the way: mountains, deserts, borders, checkpoints, a bit of stress, plenty of excitement, new people, local food, a few breakdowns, and—yes—some decisions we questioned halfway through. All of it on two wheels.
This page is our little mission control and mini-FAQ, now updated after the trip. You’ll find the route map, a list of all articles and updates, a quick wrap-up of the journey, details about our gear, costs and paperwork, plus a section for the people and partners who helped make it happen.
Got a question? Let us know. And if we crossed paths somewhere on the road — it was great meeting you.
Route of the expedition
We kicked things off on August 29th from Warsaw. The warm-up was a straight run through Europe — quick, practical, and with minimal sightseeing. Europe can wait. The Middle East? Not so much.
The real adventure began in Turkey: Istanbul, Ankara, then the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia (Göreme), Şanlıurfa, and onward toward the Iraqi border.
Iraq came next — yes, on a motorcycle 😜 We rode through Iraqi Kurdistan (including Erbil), and then pushed further toward central Iraq. Baghdad as well.
From there we rolled into Kuwait for a short stop, and then Saudi Arabia was back on the menu — this time to catch what we’d missed on a previous visit, including AlUla. After that, the route took us into the UAE (with a stopover in Abu Dhabi) and from there it was just a stone’s throw to Oman.
Muscat was our big finish line — the place where Desert Horizons 2025 truly felt “complete”.
And the way back? Dubai. The bike headed home by sea freight, while we flew straight to Warsaw. Less romantic than riding in, sure — but quicker… and with our heads packed full of stories.
Our friends
This trip wasn’t just two helmets and a tank of gas — it was a mountain of planning, paperwork, gear, translations, and all the little logistics nobody ever shows on Instagram.
That’s exactly why we’re beyond grateful to everyone who chipped in and had our back. Big or small — every bit of support helped turn a crazy idea into a real ride, and helped us see it through from start to finish.

Trip updates and related articles
We actually kicked off the prep work back in mid-2024, when this trip went from “cool idea” to “let’s see if it’s even possible”. That meant diving into paperwork: visas, border rules, insurance, and the big one — figuring out if you can legally ride a leased motorcycle across a big chunk of the Middle East. Spoiler: you can. But it takes patience, a handful of certified translations, and a stubborn refusal to quit after the first “no”.
Below you’ll find all the articles tied to Desert Horizons 2025 — from the prep phase to stories from the road. We’re publishing the ride content gradually, because there’s a lot to unpack — and because Wi-Fi on the route was… unreliable at best. Some posts went live along the way, and the rest we’re finishing up now, with proper details and hindsight.
